What she did is very bad. Let her paid for what she did. some people are spending money to have a baby and for her she is dumping a baby what a shame.

The Gambia needs to cahrge such silly and heartless people with murder to end such barbaric habits.All these ladies who kill these poor babies do so because they know they will be free and shamelessly walk in the street after 1 year or so. Kiliing a baby is more serious than killing a fully grown man. These babies are got through the freewill and greed of these ladies then they deliberately and mercilessly kill the babies to have time to make more money and babies.These poor innocent babies are born through the irresponsibility of these ladies who were having unprotected sex with peoples husbands or making dirty money

I'm not in any way encouraging the practice. Dumping a newly burn baby is a barbaric act and it should not in any be condoned. However, two things must be put into consideration. 1) The economic status of the youths particularly women in the Gambia are so tereble that it is hard to raise a kid in the Gambia. This one reason why the government should step up its effort to salvage the Gambians from their desparate economic situations. 2)The attitude of the Gambian people towards a young woman who happens to unfortunately and un-intentionally get pregnant out of marrage. Sex is a natural drive just like hunger. At sometimes in our lives, we desparatly want to have sex, and we all know what the consequences could be on the side of the woman biologically. Therefore, when a woman happens to be pregnant under any circumstance, she should be loved and suported by parents, other family members, friends, neighbours, the sex partner and the government if necessarry. If this was the case, every girl would have been proud of her pregnancy and give birth and raise the baby no matter how she got pregnant.
Every mother is happy to get pregnant, and they love to deliver their babies sucessfully and see them grow. This is a natural phenomenon in all women. But when society psychologically make them believe that all babies are not equally valued, then some women in certain unfortunate situations will tend to behave contrary to their natural phenemenon in term child bearing. So, we all have a responsibility in Bint Jatta's behavior which she herself didn't wish for baby. She loved that baby that she dumped more than anybody who is condemning her, but economic difficulty and social norms made her go against her wish.
