Senior national team coach, Paul Put, has expressed great confidence that the Scorpions will come home victorious from Liberia, as the Scorpions take on the Lone Stars this weekend.

He expressed his readiness to lead the Scorpions to their first ever appearance in both the World  and  the African  Cup of Nations in 2010 in South Africa and in Angola respectively.

The Coach, who expressed optimism that the senior national squad will perform up to expectation in the qualifiers, made these statements yesterday in an official handing over ceremony of a vehicle and a well-furnished apartment located at the AU Villas, in Brufut Sanimentereng. These were proudly donated by HE President Jammeh as part of his contribution towards GFA’s efforts in signing a coach for the first time with the help of Africell.

Speaking at the ceremony, Seedy MB Kinteh, President of The Gambia Football Association, applauded President Jammeh for his valuable contribution to football in the country and urged Coach Put to deliver good results in the qualifiers.

I hope that we have learn from the "RED CARDS" and avoid them if we want to qualify. Conceiving them has become a daily thing for the scorpions. So lets do it right this time to please the fans and ourselves. Its only 90 minutes control your temper for the love of the country. We are all praying and good luck...

Let GFA seeking funding for the sponsor of the Gambian league. Let the league be worth it. Football is about money these days and let the team owners gain something not only depending on selling a player. I enjoy every bit of each game now and believe if the goes to at least half a million or a million investors will come in and support teams and players begin to be payed good
