Paul Put: Lots of Good Individual Players for Senegal

The head coach of the senior national team Paul Put has stated that the Senegalese team is full of very talented individual players that can make a difference.

He said watching the video tape of the Senegal Algeria game he can see that the Lions of Senegal are a side composed of highly talented individual players and  not a team in the pitch but can capitilise on dead balls , which the scorpions need to be careful of.

“From what I have seen, the Scorpions are willing to play against Senegal and are motivated but in football also you need a little bit of luck and we have to know that every game is a difficult one. So we are working hard to bring a team that will play against Senegal that can yield result,” he stated.
He said the 4-4-2 formation was played in Liberia and might be changed as The Gambia takes on Senegal because, according to him, any system you apply makes no difference as if you get the ball you most go and try to score and if you lose you defend. “So we have to go in bulk and defend and in bulk to attack as that is the only way to play against Senegal”.

Paul Put said though he spent a little time with the Scorpions one of the qualities he saw in the team is the their spirit and will power. “Which is a good feeling that is essential in football. Everybody is willing to deliver but in football we have believe in ourselves and I believe in the players”.

The 46 years of drought still continues. But the sorrowful part of the whole situation is almost 60% of the Gambian population are now used to seeing Senegal win heir games against us or having games ending in draws.Since 1962 way back before independence Senegal has continued to be victorious in almost every Game they played against the Gambia. Many Gambians like , myself younger than 46 years are still waiting for that one game. The game we can call a victory. Then we can raise our hands up in the air and chant victory songs. However we must thank the senior squad for their performance these past years.Unlike the national squads in the 80s and 90s which witness victory for senegal every match play in both Banjul and Dakar, this suad has in two occassions shown strenght and also proof that they can win Senegal .However Senegal continues to convert the results into victory if they host the Gambia.I hope the scorpions and Mr. Paul Put the best of luck in their next match against Senegal in Dakar.

In two or three interviews of the coach. He emphasize the talents senegal have, What do you think?
That will raise your team confidence. No!! Your effort and compliments should be directed to your team,
even with 10 against 11 they lack confidence of beating this senegalese side.
The same thing happen to Ghana in the last world cup, their coach when out saying no matter what Brazil
will score. He have no option rather to attack. What happen they end up losing 3 nil. so this type of signals
should not come from a coach. The other thing we lack is good finisher. A forward who can move with or without
the ball, good that ousman jallow is back from suspension and definately we need the experiences of Jatto
Ceesay.I believed he still have it.After all we need 3 or 4 old experience players to coach along the youngsters
that are coming in the team.

Well the team is doing wonders but we lack players like Yankuba Ceesay alias Mal in the midfield to supply our strikers for them to score, to my own view the reason the coach Paul Putt is not playing mal is becuase what mal brother musa ceeesay the best international sport journalist says about coach paul putt that he has been ban by fifa thats what they told the coach thats why he is not playing mal which is not good for the country, musa ceesay is telling the fact for the benefit of the country because we saw how he is assisting to bring player to the country and trace Gambian players out, mal is a public demand so we need him in the 11 thank you
