I have stayed at Atsar Kunda Guest House with my wife, who is Gambian, on my last few visits to the country.

It is perfect for us , as we like the freedom of self-catering and eating out, and the excellent and quiet location in up-and-coming Kololi village, close to restaurants,shops, a supermarket and just 5 minutes walk from the beach.

The house itself is very soundly built, clean and wonderfully cool during the hottest weather ,with a relaxed easy-going ambiance. The staff are polite, friendly and unobtrusive.

The owner, Sue Stage, who lives on the premises, has been resident in The Gambia for many years and has the local knowledge to help her guests.

If, like me, you are allergic to hotels, Atsar Kunda is the perfect antidote !
