As part of efforts towards ensuring rapid national socio economic development and attaining the Millennium Development Goals and Vision 2020, Invest Gambia Limited is offering 22 scholarships to Gambians in a bid to complement government effort in this objective.

The scholarship programme, said to be a continuous process, will help young Gambians to further their education to tertiary levels and university, and expected to generate more employment opportunities.
In an interview with the Point, Mr. Ebrima Sanyang, chief executive officer of Invest Gambia Limited, said the initiative is aimed at complementing government’s efforts in providing quality and accessible education to Gambians.

“The Central government cannot do it alone without the help of the private sector,” Mr. Sanyang added, noting that the initiative is not a competition to central government but for the benefit of each and every young Gambian.

According to Mr. Ebrima Sanyang, Invest Gambia will continue to support the government in all its socio-economic development strides.

“In that regard, Invest Gambia will ignite innovation enterprise and creativity, accelerate the evolution of sustainable communities, and stimulate economic growth and productivity across the nation,” he said.

He however expressed the need to create commercial ambassadors, which he said is absent in The Gambia. “This is just a start; but will be a continuous process because  we need to create a platform for development.
The CEO of Invest Gambia further congratulated President Jammeh on the celebration of July 22nd revolution, his steadfastness, wise leadership and support for the reality of rapid socio- economic development of the country. He also assured him of his company’s support at all times.

Meanwhile, application forms can be collected at Invest Gambia House, 109 Kairaba Avenue, Fajara (opposite MA Kharafi Offices).
