Art: Spotlight on Bansang Art Gallery![]() Saturday, April 21, 2007 Bansang Art Gallery is an eye-captivating and fascinating outfit located about 315 KM from the Gambia capital Banjul. It is specialized in artistic designs, traditional musical instrument and still-life paintings with printings of all nature.
Mr Alhaji Sanneh, a middle age Gambian, is the brainchild behind the Bansang Arts studio/gallery. He was formerly a teacher who utilized most of his leisure time in creative artistic handworks. Arts and culture became his choice of vocation. He acquired the theoretical know-how through perusals of pertinent literary materials. “The inspiration of becoming an artist is something that I grew up with, because since at tender age, I was known by many as a creative lad,” Mr. Sanneh disclosed to The Point reporter Alieu Jamanka who encountered him in his native home town of Bansang.
