Two Years for Cassava Thief

A certain Modou Lamin Mankajang was recently convicted and sentenced by the Brikama Magistrates’ Court for stealing D10,000 worth of cassava.

Modou Lamin was sentenced to two years in prisons with hard labour.

I dont understand how this man can get 2 years sentance for stealing cassava when another man gets an order to keep the peace and pay D5000 to a 50 year old woman that he beat and robbed of over D12,000. Where is the justice?
