Kumba Sillah Camara of the Bundung Magistrate Court, charged with
impregnating an underage girl and criminal trespass. According to the mother of the young girl, Christine Mendy, she brought the accused to court due to what she described as his unruly behaviour and lack of respect for her and her family. The old woman argued that Mr Boye frequented her compound and often insulted her and her disabled husband. Abdoulie Boye denied the charges saying “am not guilty and I totally disagree with all that the plaintiff said”. The acting principal magistrate at that juncture adjourned the case to October 13th. Author: DO Sierra Leonean docked for raping 8-year old girl![]() Thursday, August 14, 2008 Morris Kallon, a Sierra Leonean national was, on Tuesday, arraigned before the Bundung Magistrates Court presided over by Senior Magistrate Kumba Sallah-Camara on charges of raping an 8-year old girl. According to the particulars of the charge sheet, Morris Kallon was alleged to have had carnal knowledge of an 8-year old girl from Bakoteh in the Kanifing Municipality. When the charge sheet was read to Mr Kallon before Senior Magistrate Sillah-Camara, he pleaded not guilty to the charge preferred against him. Magistrate Sillah-Camara then remanded Kallon to the State Central Prison, Mile Two, and adjourned the case to August 20th. Inspector Saine stood in for the IGP. Author: by Salifu M. Touray Man bags D70,000 bail bondTuesday, July 29, 2008 Madi Sowe, a 27-year old man was, yesterday, granted bail in the sum of D70,000 after he was charged with the defilement of a girl under the age of 16. He was brought before the Bundung Magistrates’ Court presided over by Senior Magistrate Kumba Sillah-Camara. According to the fact before the court, Madi Sowe unlawfully had carnal knowledge of the girl (name withheld), sometime in the year 2007 at Bundung in the Kanifing Municipality. Madi Sowe told the court that he wanted to seek for services of a counsel. Senior Magistrate Sillah-Camara then granted him court bail in the sum of D70,000 or a Gambian surety who must deposit his ID Card and furnish the court with a reachable contact address. Touray Fresh charge for KeitaThursday, April 10, 2008 It was a bit of relief to Bakary Keita, a resident of Nema Kunku, who was allegedly accused of rape, when he reappeared before the Senior Magistrate Kumba Sillah-Camara of Bundung Magistrates’ Court Bundung on Monday, 7th of April. Bakary Keita has bagged a fresh charge following a rape case preferred against him. It was substituted to a lesser charge of a defilement of a girl under the age of 18. Appearing before Senior Maigstrate Kumba Sillah-Camara, Police Prosecutor Corporal 438 Njie, applied to the court under section 169 that the rape case preferred against Bakary Keita to be substituted to a defilement charge (against the accused). The police prosecutor corporal application was granted thus brings a sign of relief to the suspect who is awaiting trial on a lesser charge which can not proceeded due to the absent of the defence lawyer in the court. Bakary Keita was later granted a bail in the sum of D50,000 with one Gambia surety who must deposit his national ID card at the same time furnish the court about his full reachable contact address.
