Seedy Cham a 52 year old man residing in Dippa Kunda Kanifing Municipal Council the Gambia, has being living with an enlarged heart for more than ten years. He is married with children.  He is an unemployed man for a while now due to his poor health condition. Seedy is poor and unhealthy.

Cham.s condition is getting worst as he grows older. He walked in the offices of Media Agenda and below narrates his ordeal; to save his life cham needs a heart implantation.

“I was taking treatment at the MRC for so long without knowing that I was a heart patient”. Then I went to the German clinic call ASP at Latrikunda where I was later refer to the Royal Victoria Teaching Hospital (RVTH) for ECD test and X-ray then it was discovered that I have a heart enlargement” said Cham. He said it was

I started the process by writing application and submitted it.  Unfortunately he was later told that the doctor who was helping him has come to the end of his duties and since returned to Cuba. However the process continued.

“I was call in the first week of May 2008 and told that , I should go to Dakar for an implantation at a cost of 30,000 thousand dalasi which is equivalent to 1800 US dollars” said poor Seedy. He almost cried wondering where on earth he could raise such a huge amount of money. This amount excludes transport and accommodations, poor seedy lamented. If nobody comes to my help am afraid I will not make it.

He does nothing for living due his poor health conditions, and yet has a family to feed coupled with such money to meet his hospital bills in Dakar Senegal. He told this reporter that he has continuous chest pain and any form of exercise including walking brings enormous pain, he hardly breathes well.

He is appealing to the general public, institutions, organizations and governments world over to help him go for the treatment. Anyone who wants to help him can contact the following numbers 220-9832802 or 220- 7760740
