16 Student Red Cross Volunteers Certificated

africa » gambia » kaur
Thursday, May 03, 2007
Sixteen Red Cross volunteers, who are students of Kaur Senior School in Central River Region (CRR}, were recently awarded with certificates at a ceremony held at the school grounds in Kaur.
Speaking on the occasion, the Regional Red Cross coordinator for CRR, Mr Pa Musa Kijera, said the Gambia Red Cross Society is here to serve humanity and therefore the occasion had proved to the Lower Saloum community that Red Cross is a living organisation and shall continue to play its part in accordance with its motto of “service to mankind”.
He commended the students and their teacher coordinator for what he described as a landmark achievement in the history of the school. For his part, Mr. Lamin Darboe, a teacher and the Red Cross coordinator in Kaur Senior School, expressed gratitude to the Gambia Red Cross Society and commended them for showing recognition to his students.
Fatou Sanyang, a student volunteer, gave the vote of thanks.
