Marketing Manager</span><br style="font-weight: bold;" /> <br style="font-weight: bold;" /> <span style="font-weight: bold;" >(Research and Development)</span><br style="font-weight: bold;" /> <br style="font-weight: bold;" /> <span style="font-weight: bold;" >Duties / Responsibilities</span><br style="font-weight: bold;" /> <br /> * He/she must be able to carry out relevant product and market research into all relevant issues in tourism and travel<br /> <br /> * He/she must have the ability to lead the process of establishing a comprehensive tourism data base<br /> <br /> * He/she must ensure the regular collection of tourism statistics from the Yundum International Airport and  other points of entry across the country<br /> <br /> * He/she must be able to search and advice on new tourist attractions in collaboration with the Tourism stakeholders<br /> <br /> * He/.she must be able to scan the internet for Tourism market trends in competitor destinations as defined by the Authority<br /> <br /> * As head of the Statistics unit he/she is to supervise the day to day activities of the officers and data entry clerks<br /> <br /> * He/she will conduct market research in potential new and old source markets to produce periodic reports on key data such as tourism arrivals, tourists expenditure etc<br /> <br /> * He/she will conduct periodic survey and product audit to determine tourist satisfaction levels<br /> <br /> * He/she will support tourism micro/macroeconomic analysis for the formulation of policies and strategies<br /> <br style="font-weight: bold;" /> <span style="font-weight: bold;" >Entry Requirements</span><br /> <br /> • The job holder must have a Master’s Degree in Marketing or Research and Development in Tourism plus not less than 2 years working experience OR<br /> <br /> • A Bachelors degree in economics with strong IT skills will be an advantage<br /> <br /> • He/she must be computer literate (MS words, Excel, etc) proficient in data base management<br /> <br style="font-weight: bold;" /> <span style="font-weight: bold;" >Personal qualities needed</span><br /> <br /> - Ability to lead a team and work extensively unsupervised<br /> <br /> - Be versatile and able to provide support to management<br /> <br /> - Must have strong organizational, management, PR and administrative skills<br /> <br /> All interested candidates must submit their letters of application to the Personal Assistant to the Director General, Gambia Tourism Authority with photocopies of all relevant certificates, CV and testimonials not later than Friday, March 28th 2008     <br /> <br /> E-mail: info@gta.gm<br /> <br /> Candidates who do not possess the minimum requirements need not apply.<br /> <br /> </div></div>Mon, 17 Mar 2008 04:52:18 GMT
