Box 3504, Kanifing</strong></p><p>The National  Planning Commission (NPC) was established by an act of Parliament in 2006 as the Apex Planning body in The Gambia responsible for coordinating all development planning activities to promote a more coordinated response to meet the Socio-Economic development objectives of the country.</p><p>The Commission has established a secretariat to manage the day to day operations of the Planning Commission and the following four Directorates, each to be headed by a Director, have been created;</p><p>•  Economic Policy Analysis and Management <br /> •  Development Planning, Implementation and Coordination <br /> •  Research, Monitoring and Evaluation <br /> •  Finance and Administration</p><p>In this regard, the National Planning Commission invites applications from suitably qualified Gambians to fill the vacant position of Director for each of the above four Directorates.</p><p><strong>Qualifications and Experience</strong> </p><p><strong><em>Economic Policy Analysis and Management</em></strong> <br /> Masters degree or equivalent with a minimum of 7 years relevant management experience, demonstrated intellectual leadership and ability to integrate economic knowledge with broad operational strategies and policy objectives, and a good track record of managing and leading complex policy dialogue, Economic Policy Analysis, including advisory services and development of Economic Models.</p><p><strong><em>Development Planning, Implementation and Coordination</em></strong> <br /> Masters degree or equivalent with 7 years relevant management level experiences in Social Sciences including but not limited to: Development Management / Administration / Studies; Economics; Development Economics; Community / Rural Development; Health Policy, Planning and Financing; International Health (Health Economics); Planning; Public Policy / Administration / Management; Education Planning and Management, Population and Development; Urban Development / Planning; Agricultural Sciences; Management Sciences; Social Policy and Development / Planning; Political Sciences; Gender Development / Planning, Regional, Development / Planning / Decentralization.</p><p><strong><em>Research, Monitoring and Evaluation</em></strong> <br /> Masters degree with atleast 7 years research experience in a Social Science or Development field with substantial research component in areas including but not limited to Decision Sciences; Public Health and related fields; Development Management / Studies / Economics; Economics / Econometrics and Mathematical Economics; Political Sciences; Social Research Methods; Social Policy / Planning and Development; Statistics; Demography and Health; Population and Development, etc.</p><p><strong><em>Finance and Administration <br /> </em></strong>A Masters degree in Business Administration, Financial Management or Accounting from accredited / recognised universities or professional accounting qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, ACMA, IPFA, ICAP, ICMAP and CIMA with at least 7 years relevant management experience </p><p>Highly proficient in relevant Information Technology productivity solutions (e.g. Microsoft Office programs, internet and accounting financial management software such as SAGE OMICRON etc.</p><p>Detailed Terms of References (TORS) for each of the positions are available at the Secretariat of the National Planning Commission at the address given above or through</p><p>Email: <a href="mailto:goodusirayel@gmail.com" >goodusirayel@gmail.com</a></p><p>Closing date for all applications is Monday 28th July 2008.</p></div></div>Wed, 23 Jul 2008 08:16:11 GMT
