Current Feed ContentEdi’s Walsall eye League One titleWednesday, January 09, 2008 Gambian international, Edrissa Sonko, and his English League One club, Walsall, have climbed up to sixth position in the 24-team table as they continue their promising run in the Coca Cola championship. Sonko’s coach, Richard Money believes his team's excellent spirit has helped them move up the league table on 37 points, just seven points behind leaders, Swansea United . The Saddlers struggled at the start of the season following last term's promotion, losing four of their opening seven League games. Sonko’s side looked set for a season of struggle, but Saturday's 1-1 draw with Doncaster extended their unbeaten run in all competitions to nine matches. "I think, at the risk of sounding like a broken record, it's a team thing," said Money. "The team are defending well at the moment - we've got a good team understanding. "The two centre-backs and the full-backs are forming a formidable barrier." Walsall could leap further should they beat Yeovil in a tie that was in progress at the time of going to press last evening.
