He was met on arrival at the Ambassador Shih has served in several high profile positions in Taiwan such as Deputy Director for NGOs, Director of Journalism and Culture, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, from there he was appointed Ambassador to South Africa and then to The Gambia. Also present at the airport to receive the new Taiwanese diplomat were senior government officials, staff of the Taiwanese embassy and a cross section of the Taiwanese community in The Gambia. State Visit Programme President Vieira will be met by President Jammeh and dignitaries on arrival and then proceed through Lamin - Abuko to West Field, Kairaba Avenue and along Garba Jahumpa Road to the Ocean Bay Hotel. Later in the day President Vieira will meet members of the Bissau Guineans community at Ocean Bay Hotel. On Saturday there will be a visit to the Kharafi farm project in Kafuta, followed by a visit to the Sulayman Junkung Jammeh Hospital in Bwiam, a visit to Mayork village ASSEC project, and then party moves on to Kanilia village for a tour. Lunch will be at Sindola Lodge after which the party will depart for Ocean Bay Hotel. On Sunday the party will visit Brikama Power Plant at 10:30, and then visit Tanji fisheries complex. At 19:30 there will be a banquet at Kairaba Beach Hotel in honour of the the visiting President. On Monday there will be a visit to Arch 22 in Banjul and then at 12:30 there will be a tete-a-tete at State House between the two presidents followed by a final communique, a press conference, a private lunch and then departure for the Airport Author: DO |
