Current Feed ContentTwo Gambians off To Ghana as Match CommissionersMonday, April 07, 2008 Two Gambians, namely Jammeh EK Bojang Secretary General of the Gambia Football Association and Mr. Badou Jasseh the President of the Gambia Football Referees Association will be leaving Banjul for Ghana tomorrow Friday 4th of April 2008 to officiate in CAF confederation cup as match commissioners. Jammeh EK Bojang, speaking to Pointsports, said both of them will be officiating different games as match commissioners. He said Badou Jasseh will be the match commissioner in the game between Assanti Gold of Ghana Vs JS Kabylie of Algeria, while he will be the match commissioner for the game between Assanti Kotoko of Ghana and Witi Tourist of Nigeria in the CAF Confederation Cup. These games are expected to be played during the weekend. Meanwhile in another development the Pointsports has learned that next week all GFA national league games that were slated to take place at the Independence Stadium will be move to the various grounds around the greater Banjul Area. This is linked with the ongoing work at the Independence Stadium. The victory marks third win in a row. Samger, who gain promotion to the GFA first division league this season, still maintain their good preseason run off form. The academy boys make it to the top of the table after beating the Bakau giants Bakau United, Armed forces and Real de Banjul in the 2008 Gambia football association national league. Samger will now play GPA who lost their return leg in Ivory Coast in the confederation cup of CAF. The match against the ferry boys will not be an easy task for the academy boys as GPA will be looking forward to winning the game, pleasing their fans and showing them that they can still bounce back. The encounter between the academy boys of Samger and the Ferry boys GPA in week four fixture of The Gambia football association national league, will kick off at the weekend on Sunday the 9th of march 2008 at the Independence Stadium in Bakau at 4.30pm. Kinteh is accompanied to Ghana by Abdou Salaam Jammeh, CAF development officer who doubles as acting secretary general of The Gambia Football Association. The assembly to be chaired by CAF President, Issa Hayatou, will be held at the Accra International Conference Centre just few hours before the grand kick off of the 26th edition of the African Nations Cup finals. The assembly is expected to dilate on pertinent issues including the progress report on Angola 2010 Nations Cup finals as well as the report by the Inspection Team regarding climatic conditions in Angola especially in February, where some parts experience heavy rainfall, among others. Author: by Nanama Keita Ports Authority honour Axi Gai![]() Friday, December 14, 2007 The GFA First Division giants, Gambia Ports Authority have named Alhaji Mass Axi Gai, secretary of state for Youth and Sports, as the club’s honourary life president. SoS Gai’s appointment letter which was signed by Mr Momodou Lamin Gibba, managing director of Gambia Ports Authority, was accompanied by a giant tv screen and a Ports Authority plague reflecting the dethroned league champions’ appreciation for the tireless support rendered by the former GFA second-vice president during his tenure as the club’s president. Meanwhile, the Ferry Boys have named Mr Ousman Jobarteh as new president of the club. Mr Jobarteh’s elevation came shortly after the appointment of Ebrima Cham, commonly known as Lukey, as the club’s coach as they prepare for the 2008 CAF Confederation Cup competition.
