Mr. Fabian and Mrs. Lizzy Akaneme last Saturday celebrated their happy matrimonial life. The power couple has traveled together as they tied the nuptial knot as one.
According to information reaching to Entertainment, hundreds of well-wishers, including both sets of relatives, friends and government officials over the weekend converged on a church to lend a hand to Mr. Fabian as he tied the bones of his bond with Mrs. Lizzy Akaneme amidst wishes of joy and laughter. However, as a power couple The Akaneme family have been able to weather the storm of married life. Life for the couple is now full of hope and their hope is based on their trust in God, a trust that has been seen the duo stay connected much to envy of many who know them
Touching on his educational background, Mr. Fabian N Akaneme was born on the 26thof September, 1966. He is a Nigerian by origin and a chartered insurer by profession. Mr. Fabian holds a BSC Degree in Business Administration with 2 class upper Division from The University of Lagos, Nigeria. He is an associate of both the Chartered Insurance Institute of London and Nigeria. Mr. Akaneme is presently The General Manager of Gamstar Insurance co Ltd. The Gambia in charge of Technical and zonal operations.

Ramatoulie Jarju stunned the neighbourhood of Sukuta Nema last Saturday after pouring heated cooking oil on her husband, Yusupha Badjie, scalding his legs.

Narrating the story to The Point, Police PRO, Secka, related that the couple had a domestic problem the day before, necessitating an ill-fated intercession by family members that failed to address the problem.

He revealed that the victim was reclining in bed out of apparent exhaustion from night duties when Ramatoulie, who was cooking, took the already heated oil and splashed it on Mr Badgie’s legs, causing him obvious bodily harm. PRO Secka further revealed that the man was thereafter taken to Royal Victoria Teaching Hospital (RVTH) where he was admitted until the following day.

Meanwhile Ramatoulie is said to be currently in detention, helping the police in their investigation.

The latest incident occurs barely five months after the conviction of Tabara Samba for causing the death of her husband by pouring hot oil on him.

In a philanthropic gesture as tourists on holiday in The Gambia Cees and Paula, a Dutch couple, donated drugs stationery worth over D20,000 to the Njawara Health Centre and also to the Lower Basic School of the village on Monday.

Speaking in an interview with The Point yesterday Cees said their contact with Njawara was facilitated through Dodou Njie, Chairman of the Njawara Youth Development Society.

Cees stated that the support for the village will continue or one year and that every four months they will lend their support to both the health centre and the school to the tune of D15,000.

For his part, Dodou Njie thanked the Dutch couple for their timely support of the community.

He called on Gambians to emulate their gesture noting that the aim of their society is to look towards the development of health and education in Njawara.

Speaking earlier, Ousman Secka, Deputy Secretary of the group also, on behalf of the people and the Alkalo of Njawara, commended the couple for their benevolent gesture. He added that the donation will live long in the history of the village.

Mr. Seeka said the donation will greatly help the community and its cluster villages and prayed the relationship between the couple and the village will go from strength to strength.
