Payment or jail for convict

Magistrate Kayode of the Brikama Magistrates Court has ordered one Yankuba Dibba to pay the sum of D5,000 to a group of women in Yundum in default to serve a 6-month imprisonment term. He is said to have stolen the money from the women. Yankuba is to pay the said amount within a week. Failure to do so will result to a 6 months in prison for him but if he pays he will spend only one week in jail. The one week jail term has no fine option. Corporal Colley represented the IGP at the trial.

Barajally-Tenda solar panels stolen

Reports reaching the Daily Observer have revealed that sixteen solar panels connected to the Barajally-Tenda borehole in the Central River Region have been carted away by unknown individuals.
