Oceania's most talked about organizations

Geographical media regularly compiles statistics from hundreds of online sources from different countries from around the world. We focus on gathering top news sources which are mainstream news papers preferrably also in print. From these sources we monitor who, what and where each article is about and compile statistics based on what we find.

We use the information from this media montoring to calculate a rating for each person, place or thing which we call their World Coverage Rating which is based on three factors:

  • Population: The amount of population in the given country where the news stories were published. We call this Exposure.

  • Percent of Local News: The percent of all front page news stories in which the person or company appears which were first published in the given country. We call this Coverage.

  • Geographical and Geopolitical Distance: The physical distance between the country where the person or company is from and the publishing country and the total number of countries in which they were published. We call this Reach.

The result is a continuously updated list (below) of the most talked about people in the past week organized by where the person, company or organization is from. To see the details of the statistical calulation of any individual click on their World Coverage Rating score. To narrow your search to a specific location click on one of the locations above.
